Princeton has offered admission to its class of 2025 to 1,498 applicants. According to numbers provided by the University, fewer than nine percent of them (129 out of the 1498) are white American males. Of that small number many — perhaps most — are recruited athletes.

68 percent of the admitted applicants identify as “persons of color.” 14 percent identify as international students. 52 percent are female. 48 percent are male.

Не знаю, почему автора заинтересовали именно white males. С white females там примерно то же самое, всего белых американцев в этом классе Принстона 18%. Любопытно, это у них в Принстоне такие квоты сформировались, или они play by the ear? Глядишь, белым придется свои альтернативные университеты организовывать, как евреям Brandeis в свое время.

UPD: поправка к процитированной статье: цифры несколько менее убедительные, но суть не меняется.

However, Princeton’s 68 percent figure for “persons of color” relates to domestic admittees — 68 percent of that group (which is 86 percent of the total, not 100 percent) are non-white. So the actual percentage of white American admittees is around 28 percent, and a little less than half that total are white American males.

Времена уже не те, Китай другой, Америка другая. Не знаю, как там в Принстоне, а в Urbana-Champaign (у меня там сын инженерную школу заканчивал) кажется, что ты в Гуаньчжоу попал. Сплошные китайцы кругом, там уже есть рестораны, где вывески и меню написаны иероглифами. Черных, кстати, очень мало.

eastern unis, premier ones especially, like your urbana, have usually about 7 to 8 percent blacks. i checked. there is a site like that.
