Trump said that his original plan was to maximize excitement among his most ardent supporters, but his speech will now reflect his belief that the assassination attempt has “changed the election campaign entirely,” the report said.

He said that his address would focus on unity and bringing the country together in light of what happened.

“It is a chance to bring the country together. I was given that chance,” he said. “This is a chance to bring the whole country, even the whole world, together. The speech will be a lot different, a lot different than it would’ve been two days ago.”

CNN сообщает, что MSNBC превентивно сняла с сегодняшнего эфира программу Скарборо Morning Joe. Из опасений, что кто-нибудь из них там по привычке ляпнет про покушение на Трампа чего-нибудь такое, чего нынешний момент не позволяет, и что "будет использовано против программы и сети в целом".

Кое-кто, похоже, Байдена все-таки услышал. Автор сообщения СNN, впрочем, такое решение явно не одобряет.

Diminished and frail

The Atlantic про вчерашнее обращение Байдена:

But even though Biden’s words were at times affecting, the president himself came across as a diminished figure. It’s not simply that he stumbled several times during the speech, though that didn’t help, because it’s yet another reminder of his age. It’s that he comes across as frail, an old man valiantly trying to project that he’s in command of events rather than at their mercy.

Не хочется им никаких перемирий, а вот заменить Байдена - хочется.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump on Monday, finding it was in violation of the appointments clause.

Cannon ruled that special counsel Jack Smith was unlawfully appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland.

Сейчас выяснится, что наша судебная система насквозь коррумпирована и никуда не годится. Везде практически, кроме Манхэттена, где последний бастион правосудия еще держится в осаде.
