Я этот аргумент не понимал, когда его употребляли в разговорах про университетскую rape culture, когда им размахивали во время выборов в Алабаме, и сейчас я его тоже не понимаю. Чего там сложно себе представить? Причин у желания выступить с какими угодно обвинениями может быть до черта. В случае с обвинениями в конкретно этом жанре человечеству это отлично известно как минимум с тех пор, как Иосиф Прекрасный неудачно поговорил с женой Потифара. И это не говоря про особенности идеологического верного мировоззрения во времена победившего феминизма четвертой волны.
Кстати, про это самое мировоззрение: попалась мне давеча на глаза пижама (для девочки лет десяти-двенадцати) с вот таким узором:
Интересно, а для мальчиков соответствующие пижамы делают?
UPD: этот узор, оказывается, даже в Википедию попал. И нет, для мальчиков там ничего не было, только для девочек.

Date: 2018-05-08 07:13 pm (UTC)this is my department. hobby - to estimate verity of this or that statement or text. i even got in trouble with it here, zanudno telling people they are liars, which is stupid. people who lie rarely admit it.
in this case - suppose ONE woman lied, is being vengeful. but 4? 60? in case of our great entertainer, Cosby? 60 women who don't know each other lied the same thing? Kennedy and Stormy-sex-worker describing IDENTICAL behaviors and decor of their Trump-humping? i believe them!
everybody chooses what to believe, and how much information is needed. in this case, i had enough information to believe the accusers.
this case is particularly interesting. to prove when rough sex becomes an assault? is pretty tough.
it is a little like spousal rape. without SERIOUS DAMAGE to another person's body ( serious damage is a medico-legal definition) - can a woman accuse her husband of raping her? if she did not protest, fight, go to the police and say it was done at gunpoint, get a restraining order? i say NO. yes it is a rape, but if it was not reported at the time, it is not prosecutable. what if a woman lies? it is very possible! but would TWO women lie? who never met? would 50?
it is all a matter of your own gullibility, trust, level of suspicion, and also WHO says WHAT and WHEN and WHY.
e.g. - Ivana, a fairly unpleasant lady with silly gabsburgian aspirations, wanted to get maximum out of her cheater husband. by some BAD advice she tried to accuse him of raping her. but.. it is not in his nature (TM), and this became obvious to her lawyer immediately, and the charge was withdrawn entirely, as fully unprovable. but suppose he had a previous wife, and she said the same. and a girfriend who said the same. and ??? then you would start wondering, right? either someone is paying them all or.. it is true. the paying part is relatively easy to determine, and the timeline of accusations matter.
just as an aside - i know one man who did rape one wife, then another. each - once, each - at the end of the relationship. kind of as a punishment and revenge for being wronged. neither wife went to the police or complained. in fact, the second wife learnt about his raping the first one - from the man himself, very early in their marriage. that alarmed her but apparently not enough.
now suppose this man became a judge, and one of the women came forward - she kept a grudge. Alone, her grudge is baseless. but if another one joined in - the judge would have to resign.
because we don't want wife rapists or latent pedophiles or paraphiliacs at the bench.
