But perhaps more unsettling to supporters of constitutional checks and balances is the finding that 43% of Democrats believe the president should have the right to ignore the courts. Only 35% of voters in President Obama’s party disagree, compared to 81% of Republicans and 67% of voters not affiliated with either major party.

Fifty-two percent (52%) of all voters believe, generally speaking, that court challenges of actions approved by the president and Congress help protect the rights of U.S. citizens. Thirty percent (30%), however, consider such challenges mostly nuisances that stand in the way of good policy. Eighteen percent (18%) are not sure.

Как давно заклеймлённый неполиткорретный нехороший человек, безумно хочу увидеть демографическую раскладку по группам по этому вопросу: раса, религия (какая именно)/отсутствие, страна происхождения, образование, возраст, пол. По наитию - пол будет иметь наименьшее значение. Хотя м.б. желающих плюнуть на закон из образованых побольше будет, чем из необразованых.

Недaвнo слышaл нa рaдиo беседу с [не пoмню кем, слушaл недoлгo, не былo времени], кaжется у Рaшa Лимбo. Тaк или инaче, мужик гoвoрил, чтo людям хoчется не свoбoды и всякoгo тaм сoблюдения Кoнституции, a спрaведливoсти. A свoбoдa, в тoм числе экoнoмическaя, прoстo неплoхo пoмoгaет дoстигaть этoй сaмoй спрaведливoсти.

Тaк чтo темa o тoм, чтo лучше, спрaведливoсть или зaкoннoсть, уже перестaлa (или никoгдa не?) быть чистo рoссийскoй зaмoрoчкoй.

First off the U S Constitution is basically dead. It has been decimated over the past 100 years. Elections no longer matter as has proven over and over again, most recently with the last election. The Republic of the United States of America as envisioned and rested by the "Founding Fathers" of same no longer exists. In they Declaration of Independence itself, they state:

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, INDEED, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. Well it way past the time to rid ourselves, American Citizens, of the current Government by whatever means that are necessary to do such. just saying.
