Miss me yet?

Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama’s declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they’d rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that’s somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country’s difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to the former President.

Буш догоняет Обаму по популярности.

I wish we had McCain-Powell instead of Bush-Cheney back in 2000.
And then, Powell running in 2008. All this "The-first-black-president-Obama" hype would have never happened, then ...

Do you _really_ want this RINOs? It'd be much worse - they no better than the Big O.

Powell, at least, is not a Marxist, and is definitely the least worst African-American politician in this country.

So, I would rather have seen him to become "the-first-black-President-of-the-United-States". Just like an insurance that no future candidate would be able to emerge out of nowhere and play this race card again.

Well, Powell did support one Marxist we know, while calling himself a republican. And McCain with his co-Lieberman Environment-something Act isn't much better than cap-n-trade. And you know his position on immigration etc.

I agree Obama is worse, but when people are driving the country to socialism, I'd prefer them not to do this on my behalf. McCain/Powell if elected would result in almost same as current president, but _I_ will be blamed as somebody who voted for them.

McCain-Powell
