Администрация Трампа наносит очередной удар по достижениям сил света.

 

For the past three weeks, BuzzFeed News called and emailed Education Department officials attempting to pinpoint the agency’s position.

Finally on Thursday, Liz Hill, a spokesperson for the agency, responded “yes, that’s what the law says” when asked again if the Education Department holds a current position that restroom complaints from transgender students are not covered by a 1972 federal civil rights law called Title IX.

Asked for further explanation on the department’s position, Hill said Friday, “Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, not gender identity.”

She added that certain types of transgender complaints may be investigated — but not bathroom complaints.

“Where students, including transgender students, are penalized or harassed for failing to conform to sex-based stereotypes, that is sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX,” Hill said. “In the case of bathrooms, however, long-standing regulations provide that separating facilities on the basis of sex is not a form of discrimination prohibited by Title IX.”

причем про универы даже не запретили охоту , не полностью отменили обамину указивку
а просто сказали, "если вам новый порядок не нравится, вы можете по старинке, с due process" (т.е. если нравится - то полный вперед, что меня несколько разочаровало)

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos on Friday scrapped a key part of government policy on campus sexual assault, saying she was giving colleges more freedom to balance the rights of accused students with the need to crack down on serious misconduct.

The move, which involved rescinding two sets of guidelines several years old, was part of one of the fiercest battles in higher education today, over whether the Obama administration, in trying to get colleges to take sexual assault more seriously, had gone too far and created a system that treated the accused unfairly.

The most controversial portion of the Obama-era guidelines had demanded colleges use the lowest standard of proof, “preponderance of the evidence,” in deciding whether a student is responsible for sexual assault, a verdict that can lead to discipline and even expulsion. On Friday, the Education Department said colleges were free to abandon that standard and raise it to a higher standard known as “clear and convincing evidence.”

заменили на "можете не охотиться, если не хотите, так и быть денег за неохоту не лишим"
вместо того, чтобы "лишим денег за охоту на ведьм"

Это гораздо умнее шаг: теперь у колледжей не будет отмазки, мол министерство требует, мы исполняем. И открывает их судебным преследованиям от потерпевших, если не могут представить clear and concise evidence of misconduct по стандартам судебной системы.

Ну, теоретически, они вообще не должны во внутренние дела колледжей лезть,
если там не творится ужас-ужас.
Если колледж решил развернуть развлекаться товарищескими судами, пусть
мужики его гражданскими исками трахают. В конце концов, колледж може только
исключить, но в тюрьму не посадит.

В этом разница между республиканцами и демократами. Демократы мгновенно
всей массой наваливаются и продвигают свою линию, не стесняясь
задействовать федеральный кулак.
Я уверен, что следующий президент-демократ опять это дело включит на полную
катушку
