i don't care either way, frankly. major univesrities are rich enough to pay full stipends to students they want badly. teh rest take out loans or shake tehir parents up or use state support, which is actally minimal. do you even know what you are talking about? have you gone to college in america, or you just a know-it-all from arbat's kitchen?
if you had gone to college, you'd now ho little support there is - a Pell grant, military scholarships, "incentive" grants providing like 1 thousand dollars. the "government support" does not add up to much. we are not talking NSF, NIH, DOD grants. we are talking about support for undergrad education. it's measly to begin with.
