i think it is silly, but the core of this issue is - valid. the flag needs to go. let it go on amazon, really - those who want it can buy and display it! but it should be taken off the Capitol. of course that is up to the state to decide. i just hope they do. the "gone with the wind" belongs as much as "uncle tom's cabin" - to ban it is as silly as is criminal.
i have heard soe ridiculous arguments mostly from america-phobes - as in, why not dump teh american flag as the symbol of murderous foreign sorties and arrogance and blah blah - but the american flag represnets far far more than america's errors. and confederate flag represents just the civil war and teh south's failed autonomy and the south's acceptance nad embrace of slavery. a little difference, no?
